I have serious and complicated feelings about doughnuts. Mostly I love to eat them. Sometimes I worry they’re becoming the next bacon. Anyway, pocket dialed sent me the top 10 donut shops. Good news is she just bought a car so we’re going to drive to all of them now. Of note: I once babysat for a bossy, brilliant 4 yo. She made me alternate the pronunciation of Josephina (jo/ho) at each mention while I read her American Girls books. While I usually value style consistency, I take this approach to spelling “doughut.”

This word art of Hot Pocket ingredients is so pretty it almost makes me feel better about my enthusiasm for junk food.

+ESPN called this flowchart collection “as amazing as it is useful.” If you’re wondering how Keyon Dooling ended up on the Nets, you’ve come to the right place. Wyn originally drew each team’s chart on a single grain of rice then scanned them. Not really. But they did take a lot of work! And they’re so amazing and useful!!
+Lately, I’ve found myself on the disgusted end of conversations with too many details. Let me be clear: I’m sorry your grandparent/kid/pet is sick, but there are several reasons I didn’t go to medical school and one of them is my gag reflex.

Guys. I’m technically 3 days late, but it’s just never the wrong time to honor and celebrate the glitz, the gala, the glitter and glam that is GAGA.

What sets him apart is his purist insistence on the immateriality — or the ephemeral materiality — of the work, so it crystallizes and disperses again, so there is no trace left at all.

+For someone who does not want children for a while, I’m oddly interested in child development and parenting philosophies. Particularly, the hands-off stuff. Related? This less-is-more approach is often called “free-range parenting” and it got popular in tandem with the slow foods movement.
+I support Slow Down Now in theory. I’m a lifelong believer and part-time activist for doing nothing, but their articles are just too boring.
+Fashionwise, there is nothing as complicated or expensive as simplicity. These women just launched a line of easy pieces but the real trend setter here is Minneapolis’ own Kira Obolensky and her one-act wardrobe. (Full disclosure: I love Kira and have spent many nights sleeping on her couch for money. AKA babysitting.) Pretty sure you need a husband or a kid before you can do this kind of wardrobe purge and subsequent rebirth as an androgynous Maoist gazelle. For now I’ll stick with a carelessly crafted look I like to call “lunatic chic.”
